What a great topic. Coming into the workforce, I was so excited like many young professionals. But, reality often isn’t so kind. Feeling safe to be vulnerable and to fail is very important. I’m quickly learning how hard it is to build that kind of environment in the workplace. Luckily, I work with great people. But, I’m still nervous because I don’t want to always come across as a ignorant or intrusive. It’s a hard battle to face as someone under someone.

When I’m leading, my first priority is always to ensure the psychological safety of everyone in my care so I can get the best of them. I’ll always continue to do that. Thanks for encouraging me here.

Most teams struggle with establishing this kind of environment, mainly due to the daily pressures of business and an unclear understanding of what matters most in motivating people. Happy to hear this is top of mind for you. You are already WAY ahead of the curve!
