The Greatest Forms of Acceptance
Of the greatest forms of acceptance, these may well top the list...
“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” — Mark Twain
The closest friend you have is yourself.
So learn to enjoy the company.
We humans have the peculiar ability to look upon ourselves as observers questioning our own existence. But we obsess over others instead. We never get to know the person within. Doing so requires acceptance of the unfinished, imperfect beings we are.
Of the greatest forms of acceptance, these may well top the list...
We are works in progress.
Growth continues until we leave this place. The universe is full of many things we will never understand. Not knowing is a part of life when seeking the edge. We must embrace it. Otherwise, it becomes a crushing weight.
We are full of imperfections.
Our scars and asymmetries define us. And they are the fountainhead of beauty. Consider the Great Oak and the Mighty Lion. Each one is unique among others of its kind with a likeness never to be seen again. Each one is precious beyond reckoning.
We are always enough.
We have within us the answers we seek. The inner universe is as vast as the outer, full of secrets written in our DNA from time immemorial. And only within can we find that connection to The Source of all creation. Yes, we are more than enough. So much more!
We derive our strength from these forms of acceptance... just as nature itself does.
We are never finished.
We are never perfect.
And yet... we are always enough.
Find acceptance within, and the world will rise in agreement.
“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others.
Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval.
Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.”
― Lao Tzu
