Seek The Edge

You were born to test the limits of understanding. The unknown is where possibility becomes reality.

“When we come to an edge, we come to a frontier that tells us that we are now about to become more than we have been before.” — William Irwin Thompson

The precipice you stand before is not your end.

It is your beginning. For at the edge lies what is needed most for growth: new sights, experiences and challenges aplenty. All of them are designed to test you and shape you in the form of that which you must become.

But are you ready?

The path ahead is hidden. The way is unknown. Nothing but blue sky awaits. The next step requires faith. Only in taking it does the way unfold. And it only does so one increment at a time.

Why do you tarry so?

Do you not know this very precipice is the edge of your understanding? Do you not feel a soft but insistent calling from the other side? Great wisdom awaits, but you must act to claim it.

Are your feet still rooted in place?

Think of the dreams you only dare dream. They await you on the other side of what is known. There are very few limits in this world outside of those you impose on yourself. Break free with one step forward.

Think of all you have to gain.

There is danger in standing still... and in moving forward. Risk is ever present. Comfort is an illusion cast by the familiar. But one thing is certain. You gain nothing by standing still. Only in moving forward does possibility become reality.

Do not fear the unknown.

Embrace it! Your path, the one for which dreams are made manifest, goes right through it.

🤔 Food for Thought:

Are you rooted in place at the precipice of understanding?

Does the illusion of comfort keep you from taking the next step?

Will you allow the regret of never knowing what could have been define you?

⚙️ One Small Step:

Your comfort zone is an ancient safety mechanism. Instead of viewing it as a permanent residence, view it instead as a refuge between adventures.

  • Seek the edge and expand it.

  • Return to rest, reflect and adapt.

  • Repeat.
