Give Thanks
Start with the one life you've been given. For with it you are wealthy beyond all reckoning.
NOTE: The next edition of this newsletter will be Monday, November 29. Best wishes to you and your family this Thanksgiving.
“When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.” — Tecumseh
Thanksgiving is a time of harvest.
It is a time of thanks... for those we love and all we have. It is not a time of wanting for more. It is a time of gratitude for the bounty Life provides. And that gratitude starts with the one precious life we are given.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Be thankful today.
I am thankful for...
This day and the sun upon my face
People who love and support me
My ability to create things of beauty
Freedom of thought, expression and association
The meal I am about to enjoy with my lovely wife
This amazing planet I call home and all it contains
And so much more!
Be thankful each day, not just this time of year.
Greet the sun each morning with a smile. You are alive! Be thankful for each breath, for within each one lies a world of possibility. And you have the power to self-direct.
Do not obsess over what you do not possess.
Resist dishonoring the wealth of today by coveting tomorrow. Find joy in the smallest of things, from kind gestures to moments of comfortable silence. The poor among us are those wanting more while needing nothing more.
Join me in bringing this season of thanks to each day of the year. Let gratitude reign as you hold close what is most dear.
My friends, I wish you the wealth only gratitude can bring.
🤔 Food for Thought:
What are you thankful for today?
Do you think about these things from day to day?
Are you content with what you have, or do you always crave more?
⚙️ One Small Step:
Identify three things you are thankful for each morning. Don’t overthink it. Whatever comes to mind is enough. Start each day this way, and you will be reminded often of just how wealthy you are.
